Battery storage West Sussex

SOLAR PANEL BATTERY STORAGE CAN HELP YOU TO SAVE MONEY ON ENERGY BILLS AND LIVE A MORE SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE.

Solar Panel systems are an exceptional way of harvesting renewable energy. The energy can be absorbed and then used within your home or business, but to capitalise fully from it, battery storage is crucial.

What are Photovoltaic Panels?

Solar PV Panels allow you to create electricity by using the sun's energy. Solar PV systems are constructed from solar panels which are fitted to your roof and then light can be absorbed by the panels, which creates power. This helps to save money because instead of using all your power from the National Grid, you are using the sustainable, renewable electricity form the sun, which is also less impactful to the planet.

Why Should You Use Battery Storage?

Photovoltaic panels create energy during the day (even when it's cloudy) but you won't always use all the power that's being created when it's being made. Normally, if the energy isn't used at your property, it will go back into the National Grid, however, if you have battery storage, the battery can be used to store the energy and then use it at another time. So, for example, if the electricity is made and stored in the day, you can then use it in the evening to make dinner, or watch television.

When you store and utilise energy that's created from the sun, it means you will both reduce the cost of your bills because you are using your own store of energy, which is substantially cheaper than the Grid, and you will also have more energy independence, which is beneficial if power prices keep increasing.

Are there Other Ways to Benefit from Energy Storage Systems?

Generally, battery storage systems have the ability to be monitored online, so you can keep an eye on how much power you are making from your photovoltaic panels and then how much you use.

You can then also use the batteries to store energy from the Grid, when it's a reduce price, such as special night time tariffs. You can then make the most of these tariffs at a time that works better for your purposes.

Will the Battery Storage Affect My Renewable Heath Incentive or Feed-In Tariff?

If you have feed-in-tariff payments from the current renewable energy scheme that you're on, adding energy storage shouldn't have a negative effect, or cause any problems. However, we would always advise that you contact your FIT supplier to ensure that this is correct.

If you receive payments from the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), battery storage also shouldn't create any issues for you.

How Much is Battery Storage?

On average, the cost for a 4kWh electric battery setup is between £4,000 to £6,000.
